BOYFRIEND #1... Added by:
Bill Compton as played by Stephen Moyer on HBO's True Blood
Character: Bill Compton
Age: 173 turned when 30 years old
Played by: Stephen Moyer
Species: Vampire
Occupation: Bon Temps - Vampire in Residence. Publicly, he reports to Eric Northman. Area 5 Investigator.
Special abilities: Moves lightening fast. Excellent sales person (promoting his vampire database in the book).
Turn-on(s): Faeries.
Why is he right for Sookie?: He will do anything to protect her, including walking out into the sun and nearly getting himself killed when he goes to try and save Sookie from Rene. He also kills her uncle Bartlett for molesting her as a child. People! Don't just focus on the books! They have a way better relationship in the series and you should take a look at that!

Why is he wrong for Sookie?:
Besides seducing her under false pretenses, he can't do anything with her during the day and she will never be able to have children, or the life Sookie claims to want, with him. He is also easily preoccupied with work (i.e., less time for Sookie). As the books progress, Sookie seems to want more attention from the men in her life, either because she never had it before, her immaturity with relationships, or the fact men fawn over her, so she is getting used to the attention.

As to the matter of trust, it can be re-build. Its incredibly painful to get over the awful things that happened between them and it will surely take a lot of time, but it can be done. As long as the future with him looks brighter than the grim past they are struggling to get over, there is still hope left. emmaalexa

Because he betrayed her. Because he never took the initiative to tell her the truth. Because he never intended to tell her the truth, even when they were in New Orleans visiting the queen.I think he knew he would lose Sookie if she was to find out. But the worst thing for Bill was to be forced to tell the truth by Eric. This gave points to Eric, and broke the trust Sookie had in Bill. And once you lose the trust, everything else dies. I know it, 'cause I lived it. Sookie moved on, with Eric, and Quinn, and I don't think she will trust Bill again. She will always love him, with the tenderness of the first love, but she won't go back to him, because it hurts so much. At least, that's what I think. - helenaarwen

He also raped her after he drained her. He is terrible for her. He should never be within 50ft of her.

The HBO Series Bill Is very seductive and is hard not to be taken with the rendition of the character. I like this version of Bill more as it seems do many others. The chemistry on screen is electric and the sizzle is incredibly palpable. If the series stay true to the books more of less, it almost breaks my heart even more. As a transplanted Southerner who understands the appeal of a Southern Gentleman and their "gentility" and the affects it has on breaking down barriers one thought impenetrable on several/all levels.

Bill uses his gentility when needed although he never stops reminding Sookie he is a vampire and not a human. He is constantly reaffirming how dangerous and violent they/he is. It is as if he is trying to tell her something but cannot find the words or bring himself to do it.

He may have fallen in love with her along the way, but he also set her up. He used her. He always talks about how devious Eric is and how he will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. Bill is more underhanded to me as he took knew he took away so much of her innocence not just he virginity although that is is significant to him based on his age and I am sure to Eric as well. It certainly affects Sookie because he is often a measuring stick. Bill may have just been following orders from his queen, but he put a great deal of effort into keeping her isolated. Eric hit the nail right on the head. By exploiting Sookie's naivete', her desperate need to have someone in her live she could love and trust with the burden of his secrets which included her "gift" as well as be loved and provide her with that physically we all crave(most all anyway). After all, who would pass up really great sex from some one who is attractive (if he's your type) and can fallen a trailer avec telephone poles as well. If you is to end up with a vampire and it seems like she almost should. I would choose Eric. He may be ruthlessly practical and methodical, but with exception of a little bullet sucking. He does not seem to lie to her. He is also there to save her over and over again. I am sure someone has the count of how many he has v. Bill. He may never have said he would die for her, but he was their to take a bomb, bullets and a lot of other punishment for her. Staking Long Shadow was only the beginning, but the show gave it to Bill so we will have to see what kind of Bill he turns out to be.-(opinions of both)- d'Andelot & Angelyne

I dont know who says he is "hot" and "sexy" he looks like an old man!

BOYFRIEND #2... Added by:
Eric 3
Eric
Character: Eric Northman
Age: 1000+ Turned in his 20's or 30's
Played by: Alexander Skarsgard
Species: Vampire
Occupation: Owns Fangtasia. Area 5 Sheriff.
Special abilities: Can Fly. Excellent leader and businessman.
Turn-on(s): Sookie and Faeries (There smell/blood)
Why is he right for Sookie?: He truely cares about her and would do anything to protect her. He's never lied to her. They have a special bond.
Why is he wrong for Sookie?: Same reasons given for Bill above, with the exception of lying to her. And he doesn't rape and drain her... and he would never rape her. Who wouldnt want him?

Our hats off to Ms. helenaarwen!

We both though have a difference of opinion in varying degrees about Eric's continued unspoken willingness to put his life on the line for Sookie to defend, protect and even rescue her. It seems, Eric is constantly putting himself in harms way because of Sookie. {Bullet count & battery account anyone one?-Angel} Could it be like his love for her, just because he doesn't say or even admit it to himself, doesn't mean it isn't there.
Eric becomes more and more territorial and possessive of her, "was mine ...will be mine again". I cannot wait to see how they handle him baring down over her on the hood of his corvette. When he asks her if she likes him, as tells her he can protect her from Bill. That is an interesting statement by itself. He knows Bill and something about he we are never told that has nothing to do with the queen at this point. The scene could be delicious if it is done and is handled By The Book;). I am also dying to know what Eric and Bill discussed outside of our scope.
If Quinn had not had the queen's mantle of authority to protect him, Eric might have arranging a little an accident for Quinn. However because of Eric's great sense of politics, business and responsibility plus whatever extra protection the 3Es seem to afford Quinn; he hesitates. You just get the feeling they reside out west somewhere that crosses certain characters out of FROM DEAD TO WORSE which is why they fall silent when he is in trouble. Eric leaves Quinn alone, for now.
Eric loves Sookie and she loves him. The question is will the talented and exceedingly entertaining Ms. Harris have them to get it through their thick skulls and work it out? When the dust settles from the transition of "new management", Eric has a great excuse. The king's protection is just what he can use to make her his, should she wish it. The question is can he keep her or will he finally have to become more ambitious and acquire a higher station that would be more befitting a vampire of his age and skill. If he could find a way and it was a solid relationship; she would be foolish not to try. He means too much to her and she is too far into this world to escape it now. Besides, she is part of his retinue. ; ) -d'Andelot & Angelyne

And he has Bill's maker Lorena hold Bill against his will while Sookie is in danger just so he (Eric) can have his shot at her.

Quinn - a la Charlaine Harris

Sookie's Love Life - True Blood

Sookie's Love Life - True Blood
My vote for Quinn..(if it can not be Vin Deisel)
Character: Quinn
Age:30's
Played by: unknown as of yet
Species: Weretiger
Occupation: Works for Extremely Elegant Events. Paid off debt to vampires by fighting to the death in the pits for three years and survived.
Special abilities: He is a very rare weretiger and is very large and powerful as a result (more so than the Weres). He is an excellent fighter, which may or may not be the result of his being a weretiger.
Turn-on(s): Sookie. Fighting (to pay off debt to vampires).
Why is he right for Sookie?: Quinn is one of the few characters who has put his own life on the line, deliberately putting himself in real danger and risking his life to protect her. He is extremely loyal to his family and is the provider for his mother and sister. This Weretiger cares nothing about Fairies or their blood, which can't be said for her other love interests. He has proven that he can love Sookie if he doesn't already and he'd do almost anything for her (even kill), he could protect her, and they might b able to have cubs/ babies and grow old together. They could go out during the day! They could have breakfast together! And do all of the normality Sookie desires! That is, of course, if Quinns family obligations were to cease and desist. Not to mention Sookie's blood tie to Eric …

He is also massively sexy and the sex scenes in the books between them are pretty hot (more so than the Eric or Bill scenes).

Why is he wrong for Sookie?: He has obligations to work that requires him to travel quite a bit and he has a dependent sister and mother. His mother is mentally ill and in a home, but has escaped once and caused quite a bit of damage in her weretiger form, requiring the vamps to clean up after her in Vegas before Quinn could fix the situation. This caused Quinn to be in debt to the Vamps and resulted in putting Sookie's life at risk when the Vegas vamps took over LA and AK, though Quinn really had no other choice. Sookie does not like the fact she wouldn't be #1 in his life w/his sister and mother around. The relationship ended with Sookie being quite mean and abrupt with him and he walked out. Hopefully, Ms. Harris writes about him more because he is a prominent figure in the supe community and is considered to have a rockstar status among the both the shifters and the vamps.

Quinn had the potential to become The One. He was fun, sexy, warm, present during day. They experienced ups and downs. She stayed with him after the explosion in Boston. Unfortunately for him, he got mixed up, unwillingly of course, in a very bad situation with a potential to destroy Sookie and those dear to her heart. When he didn't call, and arrived at her porch along with the vampires from Vegas, she was forced to make a decision: either Quinn or Eric. It wasn't that hard, and he was left out in the cold. I feel for him, 'cause she really was good for her. he could have given her a family, kids, companionship during day. But he chose the well-being of her mother and sister over Sookie's, while Bill and Eric were there to protect her. And Quinn lost. And I don't think she would go back to him. - helenaarwen

Too bad... not! *TEAM ERIC and TEAM SAM* either works for me :)

BOYFRIEND #4... Added by: Witchiepoo and FANGS GALORE
Sam Merlotte as played by Sam Trammell in HBO's True Blood
Character: Sam Merlotte
Age: 30's
Played by: Sam Trammel
Species: Shapeshifter
Occupation: Owner of Merlotte's.
Special abilities: Shape-shifter - at will and by force during full moon; turns into any animal he has acquired an imprint of; by physically touching one can turn into any at anytime. Turns back to normal when he falls asleep.
Turn-on(s): Sookie.
Why is he right for Sookie?: Sam will do whatever it takes to help Sookie. He loves her for who she is. When everyone thought she was weird, he thought she was wonderful. She can talk to him about anything. He's her friend, but he'd really like the opportunity to be more. But then, Sam also likes things a little wilder than Sookie, like the Maenad... and the Maenad was so much easier than talking to Sookie. Shyness makes Sam low on the list. But he has a good heart.

Why is he wrong for Sookie?: There seems to be little chemistry between the two and he has basically solidified himself as Sookie's good friend.

BOYFRIEND #5... Added by: LilyBard
My vote for AlicideJoe Manganiello
Jeremy Sisto
Character: Alcide Herveaux
Age:20's-30's
Played by: unknown
Species: Werewolf
Occupation: Construction Contractor (Owner)
Special abilities: Turns into a Werewolf (a Were). Leadership, strength, financial acumen.

Turn-on(s): Strong and dangerous women, including Sookie.
Why is he right for Sookie?: He's very attracted to her, except for his old fiance Debbie (who's dead as a result of Sookie's defending herself), He's hard working, strong, well off, and is always there if she needs him (or if he needs her telepath abilities), but there is that little detail… Alcide needs to either marry another Were, or marry a girl who will tolerate him having a female alpha in addition to herself.

I will agree that Alcide needs to marry a female alpha, or someone with a stronger personality. -heide.rumble
I think it would have been great, if he hadn't become pack master. -annapaquin67
but he didnt become pack master?

Why he is wrong for Sookie?: there was a feeling that he unconsciously acted like he was better than Sookie because of class reasons or because she was not a Were. Sookie knew that killing his ex would be a deal breaker because it would always be hanging over the relationship. He also has a lot of responsibility as a Were and now the pack leader. This will never work. Plus, she overheard him celebrating the war victory in the Were pack leader way, to her disgust.

GIRLFRIEND #6... Added by: LilyBard
Farah Fath
Character: Amelia Broadway

Age: 20's
Played by: unknown
Species: Human/Witch
Occupation: Freelance witch.
Special abilities: Spells, protection, but not so good at transformation.
Turn-on(s): Beautiful and/or interesting people, independence, Pam and now Tray Dawson.
Why is she right for Sookie?: She protects Sookie and shares her house without ever placing her in jeopardy the way everyone else in her life does. There's just the minor heterosexual imperative to overcome.

Why is she wrong for Sookie?: Sookie has made it clear she does not like women in that way. But they make great friends!

BOYFRIEND #7... Added by:
My vote for Calvin Norris
Character: Calvin Norris

Age:Late-40's - Early 60's
Played by: unknown
Species: Werepanther
Occupation: Crew Leader at Norcross
Special abilities: Change into a panther.
Turn-on(s): Sookie or a fellow were from his home town of Hotshot.
Why is he right for Sookie?: Good man. Has stunning golden-green eyes. Strong, stable, supportive, has a good job and insurance, and calming effect on Sookie. Only problem is with all the other much more exciting men in Sookie's life plain Calvin doesn't stand much of a chance. Of course, given the panther's small gene pool, and Calvin's responsibility to impregnate as many of the females as possible. And Sookie doesn't like to share.

Why is he wrong for Sookie? He is too old, no chemistry. Their family is just too weird and knowing he has a few children all with different women who live basically next door is too weird for her.

**OMG Randy Quaid is a perfect choice... hilarious! (BitemeEric)*** Jeffrey Dean Morgan is better because him and Sookie could have chemistry***

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Please Please Please Please!!!! I can not get enough of this charming gentleman. Loved the Irish accent he pulled off in PS. I Love You. It was good. Four thumbs, way up! -d'Andelot & Angelyne

Are you kidding Jeffrey Dean Morgan is too young to be Calvin Norris! Personally I vote for J.K Simmons (look him up). He he has the right build, age and attitude and he is suited to serious roles. Randy Quaid is not a bad choice, he is a very good actor but he is mostly in comedic roles.

wtf is everyone talking about?!?

BOYFRIEND #8... Added by:
Barry the Bellboy
Character:
Barry "Bellboy" Horowitz
Age:18-20
Played by: Chris Coy
Species:Human
Occupation: Bellboy at Silent Shores a hotel in Dallas; later employed for his telepathic abilities by the King of Texas, Stan Davis
Special abilities: Telepathy
Turn-on(s):Sookie (particularly her telepathy)
Why is he right for Sookie?: Well, truly he's not right for her (too young). However, he is worth an honorable mention because he does have an enormous crush on her, and he does help save her life on occasion. Also, he is the only other adult telepath she knows, and, thus is one of the few that can truly understand her gift/curse.

Why is he wrong for Sookie?: Well, he is just WAY to young for her. But he is still such a damn cutie!

BOYFRIEND #9... Added by: digjen27
Sookie's Love Life - True Blood
Channing Tatum as JB
Character: JB DuRone
Age:20's
Played by: unknown
Species: Human
Occupation:
Special abilities:
Turn-on(s): Women in general
Why is he right for Sookie?: He's so dumb that even though she can hear his thoughts, there isn't much there to listen to. Also, she thinks he has a beautiful body and she also thinks he's a really nice guy. And they've known each other for years and they've always liked each other.

Why is he wrong for Sookie?: He's as dumb as a sack of rocks, offers no protection, and hes married.

GIRLFRIEND #10... Added by:
I prefer pastels when I'm not on bar duty
Character: Pam
Age: Over 200
Played by:Kristin Bauer
Species: Vampire
Occupation: Eric's Second
Special abilities: Loyal to the death.
Turn-on(s): Anything female and fairies
Why is she right for Sookie?: If Sookie were to pick a woman it would definitely be Pam. She scares her sometimes, but she also finds her humorous and intoxicating. Sookie considers Pam a friend, and enjoys being around her.

BOYFRIEND #11... Added by:
Chance Crawford
Character: Preston Pardloe (From short story Gift Wrap)
Age: Unknown
Played by: Maybe Chace Crawford could play him? He is a character on Gossip Girls. I think Eric Bana would make a good Preston
Species: Fairy
Occupation: Niall Brigant's, Christmas gift for Sookie
Special abilities: He is magical, with a gift to transform himself.
Turn-on(s): Sookie
Why is he right for Sookie?: There was instant attraction(with a little help from Preston's fairy magic). Plus, he loved his short time with her. Wants to be with her, again. He is handsome and he seems to be a good candidate to be Sookie's soul mate.

**Where did this info come from? This is not in any of the books nor is this in the first chapter to the new book Ms. Harris posted on her site.
Also, would it be good for Sookie to marry a faery? She mentioned how her mother acted towards their father (who was the fae descendant) and how her mother treated Sookie and Jason as a result. Sookie would likely have the same problem obsessing over him to the detriment of their possible children.
(Phoenix17)
This came from a short story by Charlaine Harris in an anthology called, I think, Wolfbane and Mistletoe. (BitemeEric)

Christian Monozan
Character Felipe de Castro

Turn-on(s):Power
Why is he right for Sookie?: Time will tell but an interesting addition and powerful contender above Bill and Eric mmm vampire testosterone!! He may see Sookie as a powerful tool not only politically but also we are starting to see sookie herself own awareness, of her powers
What about Christian Monzon as Felipe? I can totally see him as a Vamp!! Oh yummm, I am looking forward to this character is the next novel(s) he appears to be very powerful and he now owes Sookie, I imagine that is very new and probably uncomfortable for him but he will use it to his advantage. I don't know anything about this actor but I can totally see him as a powerful vamp! And work with Anna Paquin.
